Egypt court returns Mortada Mansour to the presidency of Zamalek SC

The Supreme Administrative Court on Sunday accepted a new appeal against the government decision to dissolve the Board of Directors of Zamalek SC, headed by former club president Mortada Mansour. Sunday’s ruling consequently returns Mansour and his board to the presidency of Zamalek SC.
Mortada Mansour had submitted an appeal against the decision of the Minister of Youth and Sports to suspend and exclude his council. In his lawsuit, he demanded the cancellation of the decision of the Directorate of Youth and Sports No. “694” dated November 29, 2020, which came in its first article to form a temporary committee to manage and run the business of Zamalek Sports Club. A member of the Zamalek club’s board of directors, Hani Zada, also filed a judicial appeal before the Administrative Court of the State Council, demanding the annulment of the decision to suspend and exclude the Zamalek club’s board of directors. On Sunday morning, Mansour published a tweet on his Twitter account, in which he explained that he would issue an "important" statement regarding the latest developments related to the court's decision.
